Do you
charge a consultation fee?
Generally, if your matter is settled
by our meeting, then yes, the fee is $50.00 per half hour. However, if we accept your
case, this consultation will most likely be worked into your fee.
How much will
you charge me?
Depending on the type of case,
we charge on a flat, hourly, or contingency basis.
What if I
can't afford an attorney?
There
are agencies that provide free and low-cost legal assistance to those
who qualify. Some examples are North State Legal Services, The Women's
Center, and your county's Dispute Settlement Center. In some instances,
we may still be able to handle your case and work with you on a fee
arrangement.
How much
money do I need to give you upfront?
Depending on the type of case,
we require different amounts of retainers.
Do I really
need an attorney?
You need to be sure that your
rights are protected. Most laws are very complex. An attorney should
look out for your best interests.
What affect
will this ticket have on my license and/or insurance?
Please visit the North Carolina
Department of Motor Vehicle’s website
here.
What
counties do you serve?
Generally, we serve Orange,
Durham, Chatham, Wake, and Alamance counties. Depending on the
circumstances, we may make exceptions. In addition, we will be happy to
provide a referral to other counties.
What if I need
an attorney in another county or state?
Please contact our office for
assistance. We can locate an attorney elsewhere and you may go through
our office to provide the payments and documents. You can
also visit this website.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash (no large amounts,
please), check, money order, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Is the
information that I provide to you safe?
According to the Rules of
Professional Conduct, we are bound to keep all of the information given
to us (verbal and written) in the strictest of confidence. We will NEVER
release any of your information to a third party without your prior
consent.
